Dropped in on a standout panel at the PwC booth featuring voices from AstraZeneca, Merck, and Virtuosis AI, each showcasing what happens when cutting-edge science meets real-world impact.

Moderated by Dr. Christian Kaspar (PwC), the session made one thing clear: AI in healthcare is no longer a moonshot, it’s quietly reshaping how we detect, diagnose, and deliver care.

Merck is using AI to accelerate molecule discovery, not just for pharma, but for materials innovation too.
AstraZeneca is transforming clinical trials with smarter patient selection and remote monitoring tools.
Virtuosis AI can identify 20+ health conditions from a 30-second voice recording (just wow!(): Depression, Alzheimer’s, even type 2 diabetes.

Of course, real progress means facing real challenges: fragmented data, the long road from pilot to production, and the trust gap between what AI can do… and what clinicians are willing to let it do.

One thing that stuck with me: “Voice could become the stethoscope of the 21st century.” That’s not sci-fi. That’s happening.

Grateful to have caught this one. VivaTech continues to deliver.
