Innovating with AI: Yes, but safely and wisely.

A packed house today at the  #PwC booth (Hall 1, f25) for our panel on one of the biggest paradoxes in tech leadership: how do you scale innovation in AI while keeping your governance solid, your security watertight, and your ethics intact?

Together with BASF, Workiva, and the AI Hub Institute, we tackled this head-on, moving beyond slogans to share real frameworks, real friction points, and real solutions.

From BASF’s practical use case inventory (which started as an Excel file, yes, really :-)) to Workiva’s data governance safeguards for large language models, the discussion surfaced one clear truth: governance isn’t the enemy of innovation, it’s the enabler: guardrails from the start, cross-functional task forces (privacy, legal, cyber, AI), security-first architecture and regulatory fluency -especially with the EU AI Act looming- will get you a long way.

The message was clear: responsible AI doesn’t just need technical brilliance. It needs collaboration, context, and company-wide culture change. And most of all: it needs leadership that treats governance as an asset, not a constraint.

Thanks to Luca Zangen, Ben Burnside, Françoise Soulié, and Hendrik Reese for a powerful, pragmatic conversation.
